Heart Failure: What It Is And How To Avoid It
It Is Caused By Several Cardiovascular Condition, Diabetes And Thyroid Problems
Heart failure is a condition that develops gradually. It is not an event in which the heart immediately stops working. The heart loses its strength to pump blood and eventually is not able to provide oxygen-rich blood. It is caused by health conditions such as high blood pressure, and other cardiovascular conditions, such as coronary heart disease, in which the blood vessels narrow, or cardiomyopathy, in which an infection weakens the heart muscle. Other causes are diabetes, metabolic syndrome, thyroid problems, and anemia, among others. Initially, it shows no symptoms, but on advanced stages, there is shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, swelling of the extremities, and chronic cough. It cannot be cured, but healthy habits can help prolong life. It can be avoided by making lifestyle changes that will prevent what causes it: exercise and diet to avoid cardiovascular problems and the other health conditions that have negative effects on the body.
