Poor Habits Not Only Have A Negative Effect On The Body But Also Cause Premature Aging
Among Them Are Poor Oral Health, An Unbalanced Diet, Not Sleeping Enough, Poor Hydration, And Excess Stress
Many people have poor habits that do not only affect health but also result in premature aging. Among them is a lack of fruits and vegetables in the diet, which result in a low level of vitamin C. Its antioxidant properties fight the toxins and free radicals that damage the skin. These free radicals not only cause aging in the skin but also in other parts of the body. Another poor habit is not sleeping enough. This does not allow the body to regenerate properly. Studies have shown that a reduction of one hour of sleep during 5 consecutive days results in a decrease of insulin sensitivity by 50%, which means that the capacity for metabolizing energy es cut by half. This increases the risk of inflammation, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, among others. Another poor habit is related to oral hygiene. Not brushing and flossing twice a day will result in gum disease, which increases the risk of heart attack and stroke. It will also lead to cavities and tooth loss, which change the appearance, lowering the cheeks and pulling the chin out, giving the appearance of an older person. Also, not drinking enough water causes premature aging in the skin and affects hair health. Excess sitting at the desk or on a couch will also affect joints, blood circulation, spine, and cardiovascular health. Additionally, not being able to control stress releases cortisol, the hormone that prepares the body for potential dangers, has also negative effects on several organs, causes memory loss, and increases the risk for Alzheimer’s and other brain-related disorders.
